More About J. Lacey Taylor
Born and raised in Jacksonville, J. Lacey Taylor (formally J. Lacey
Pionessa) took advantage of learning from the best companies located in this very large city. She sought out her education
at the University of North Florida, receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Majoring in Graphic Art and Minoring in Advertising.
While studying she worked for the University in her field. She, "wanted to have experience working in the field",
before she graduated and wanted to, "enter the business world above entry level with more to offer." While in school
she also freelanced with Liz Claiborne (top designer/retailer), illustrating detailed contours of new shoe designs used as
templates for the manufacturer. She also interned with Mayo Clinic (worlds top medical treatment and research center), where
she learned HTML hand coding.
After graduation, while looking for a job, she took a temporary position with ATP (Association for Tennis Professionals)
designing newspaper ads, ect. She entered the business world with Ring Power (Florida's Largest Caterpillar dealer), as
Graphic Designer/Promotional Coordinator, which included being the newsletter writer, photographer and editor. She quickly
took the roll of Web Designer as well, creating their first professional website.
Levenger (top
high-end office supply retailer), in Delray Beach, offered her the position of Senior Web Graphic Designer and she happily
accepted and moved to south florida. With her skills and talent they quickly turned their catalog based company into one that
was more interactive on the web, creating cozy web cafes for customers, creating websites that featured their books
in press and redesigning their website. "She created a web page for pens that had been sitting in the warehouse
for years-the page sold $40,000 worth in one week." She later worked as a contractor with Citrix (south Florida's
largest software company), where she was featured 3 times during her first three months in the Kudos section of their newsletter
for timely and helpful work- to be mentioned that many times so soon was unheard of.
She
and her husband moved back to Jacksonville to raise their son near family. She currently is getting back into her field and
offers her professional design skills to you at a fraction of the cost. Take advantage of it!
